Logistics and distribution managers organise the depository and distribution of goods. In this position you would ensure the right products are delivered to the right emplacement on time and at a good cost. You may be involved in ride, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the stream of goods.

Understanding the whole supply chain is momentous so you can coordinate it effectively and liaise with suppliers of raw materials,  caveat emptor, retailers and consumers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• use IT systems to manipulate stock levels, delivery times and transfer costs;
• use associated data systems to coordinate and constrain the order cycle;
• use data from IT systems to appraise performance and quality and to arrangement improvements;
• allocate and manage staff expedient according to modify needs;
• liaise and bargain with customers and suppliers;
• develop business by increment new contracts, analysing logistical problems and effectuate new solutions;
• continually try to ameliorate and develop business interpretation within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and insurgency environmental pressures.

WORKING HOURS

As a logistics and distribution manager hours of work may vary but are ordinarily around 60 per week. Companies that offer a 24-hour martial may operate a shift system, in which case weekend and evening work may be necessitate.
